Sea Tel 4006

Sea Tel 4006 is a shared access service offering "always-on" Internet access and IP-based services at a best effort transmission rate.  Network Innovations provides a variety of VSAT programs aligned to your bandwidth and geographic requirements.  Sea Tel’s industry-leading 4006 Ku-Band antenna system to provide fast and cost-efficient broadband communications at sea.  VSAT services for the 4006 provide Internet and VOIP connectivity.

Shipboard System

The vessel is equipped with a Sea Tel 4006 antenna system, comprised of Above Deck and Below Deck equipment. The equipment is designed specifically for maritime use and is stabilized to withstand extreme marine environments.

VSAT or WaveCall services provide a broadband connection via satellite from the vessel to the public Internet and PSTN. The system performs similar to any standard terrestrial voice and data network. An Ethernet port on the Below Deck Equipment allows users to connect to a shipboard Local Area Network (LAN) or to stand alone PCs onboard. In addition two RJ-11 analog FXS telephone ports can be easily connected to a shipboard PBX or directly to onboard telephones. By interconnecting the Below Deck Equipment to the shipboard gyro compass, satellite acquisition is facilitated with minimal user intervention.

Service Coverage

WaveCall is currently available for maritime users in the Caribbean, Latin America, the United States, Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East.  Alternative services are available from Network Innovations through our VSAT Service offerings.

Applications

The 4006 is ideal for ocean going yachts that require “always-on” broadband satellite communications. In addition, the service is suitable for private corporate networks with requirements for a variety of applications, including file and image transfer, video conferencing, e-mail, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and database backup.
