Global Satellite Industry Leaders Partnering for IBC “SATCOM Playground”

IBC 2016 is the platform where the media industry’s leaders are in one place to discover and experience the best SATCOM has to offer.  Partnering with Cobham SATCOM and Inmarsat, Network Innovations (NI) adds to this experience bringing over 25 years experience and knowledge to both the Hall 2 (A46) and Outdoor Exhibition Area (O.B01t) presenting  MAVERICK, Global Xpress, NewsSpotter and BGAN HDR solutions.

The hub of the NI Experience is the Hall 2 stand where the team will be premiering Cobham’s new Explorer 8120 VSAT antenna system. “Using the innovative stabilized-tracking technology of the Explorer VSAT line, NI is excited to add Cobham’s 1.2 meter to our family of Drive- Away antennae.  The Explorer 8120 and larger BUC option will allow NI to reach deeper into other verticals needing extreme remote, edge-of-beam communications as well as offering more bandwidth to broadcaster clients for UHD, 4K, live sports and others market segments.” said John Stoltz, VP Global Media, for Network Innovations.  As just one part of NI’s IBC presentation, the new Explorer 8120 VSAT will be complemented by a full-range of media solutions including the Explorer 3075 Fly-Away which provides greater value working across three networks — NewsSpotter (Ka), MAVERICK (Ku) and Global Xpress (Ka) plus Inmarsat’s BGAN HDR service providing greater mobility for remote media teams.

Outside, Cobham’s “SATCOM Playground” will be in full-swing with show visitors able to experience live HD video, audio, and data transmissions on Network Innovations’ proprietary MAVERICK VSAT service. Delivering high-bandwidth with dedicated throughput, the MAVERICK service integrates state of the art portable and fixed antennas streaming live broadcasts from anywhere.

“IBC 2016 is a hotbed of new communication technology so we’re delighted to work with Inmarsat and Network Innovations to give visitors the opportunity to test the reliability and efficiency of EXPLORER products, and try out the wealth of services available to broadcasters.,” said Henrik Nørrelykke, VP Land Business, Cobham SATCOM.
